Forever Blessed
British singer-songwriter Pete Taylor’s new album

I was recently asked to create artwork for Pete Taylor’s latest CD, Forever Blessed. The British singer-songwriter, now 62, has been writing and performing music since he was a teenager growing up in Leicester. Forever Blessed is the latest record of eclectic and uniquely personal collections he has recorded with Greg Tempest. I met Pete in Italy where we discussed the project and talked about his life in music. Walking the streets of Italian towns I had always been struck by religious shrines tucked away in niches in ancient walls, and especially their coexistence with signs of modernity — electricity, graffiti, blatant commercialism — which makes for a nice analogy for the Catholic church’s at times awkward role within twenty-first century Italian society. I suggested an amusing or ironic juxtaposition of the sacred and the kitsch might make for a striking album cover, while also explaining to the audience that the record’s title is not to be interpreted simply as a religious reference.

Forever Blessed was recorded in the autumn of 2010 and is available now! To order a copy contact Pete Taylor here.
